Project 3 - Por Mis Padres
For my zine, I wanted to share my parents story and immigrant hardships coming to the United States. For my opening cover I designed a portrait of my parents which leads on to their homeland, San Carlos Sija, Guatemala departing to achieve their American dream. For the next couple of pages, I wanted shine light on the hardship immigrant navigate while coming to this country such as the hatred that has been displayed against immigrants. For my last two covers, I decided to incorporate my own impressions of my own parents and immigrant being strong and selfless to leave everything they've ever known about to provide and achieve better for not only themselves but for their family.
